_KaFka series

_For the last few months I've really fancied doing the covers for a set of books (Ideally a penguin series) but the Penguin stuff I thought was something put togehter by and for 'respected designers' then Reading an interview with Gary Card in some random magazine, I discovered he did these covers for the Kafka series straight out of uni - Perfect, and an ideal little job to aspire to. oh, and if anyone who works at penguin is reading this . . .

_Style Icon for the Ballet this evening

_First edition of 'The Perfect Childhood' by Larry Clark. Including Clark's controversial black and white photographs from the "Tulsa" and Teenage Lust" work, as well as previously unpublished color and black and white images.

_Sat on a Train jetting out of the city, Watching . . .

_The 1975 Docu-Movie 'Grey Gardens' in which Directors the Maysles brothers pay visits to the Aunt and Cousin of Jackie Onassis, Edith Bouvier Beale, nearing 80, and her daughter Edie. Reclusive, the pair live with cats and raccoons in Grey Gardens, a crumbling mansion in East Hampton. Edith is dry and quick-witted - a singer, married but later separated, a member of high society. Edie is voluble, dresses - as she puts it - for combat in tight ensembles that include scarves wrapped around her head. There are hints that Edie came home 24 years before to be cared for rather than to care for her mother. The women address the camera, talking over each other, moving from the present to events years before. They're completely odd, with flinty affection for each other.

To anyone who hasnt seen it, or even heard of Big and Little Edie you HAVe to see this film, Its pure genius, paradise lost, a beautifully gothic tale of wealth and rebellion in East Hampton

_Like a Religion . . .

_I saw 'The September Issue' with friends last night - Its COMPLETE GENIUS. Go see it when it comes out, or find one of the many ripped coppies that seem to be circulating the fashion world.

Seriously, 'The September Issue' is fashions new cocaine - Completely addicted.

_I was flicking through alot of his old work over the weekend, and kind of felt I wanted to do a bit of an homage to Dash. So here we are, an incredible artist, gone far too soon.

_I'm currently obsessed . . .

_With the 1980's nostalgia flick 'The Wedding Singer' in which Adam Sandler plays Robbie Hart, a suburban wedding singer who gets dumped at the altar by his fiancee. He meets Julia, who is engaged to the wrong guy, and he falls in love with her. He then tries to figure out how he can make her realize what a jerk her fiance really is, all to a soundtrack of classic 80's hits - Its all just SO GOOD.

_Street Boys

_Just another bit of street style I'm doing for a big online brand who seem to have sourced all the original team from Sleazenation to launch thier own magazine - Stay tuned for more.

Clue: The top and bottom images were deemed 'too trendy' and 'too far detatched from the market audience' to be included in the launch issue.

_Read / Look / Inspire

_Such a lovely book, Yves houses, in detail, all over the world. complete genius. All it needed for me was different impressions of the same space - I'd love if they'd gottten say 5 different photographers interpretations of the same spaces (god knows enough photographers got into that space!) - Imagine the images here sat next to Hedi Slimanes dark detailed images - Glorious.

_I stumbled across the 'Idea Books' Pop-Up Bookstore at the Front Room of the St Martins Lane Hotel on Saturday (45 St. Martin's Lane London WC2N 4HX) - Its completely glorious, and I highly recomend any editorial geek go check it out.
