_The Selby

_Just some lovely bits from the Selby's website.
Note: of all things the most desirable of these images for me is the third one down, the huge skylight leading to the roof gardens in the residents wing of The Chelsea Hotel, NYC.

_In Memoriam | Terence Koh’s Dash Snow Tribute

_The artist Terence Koh has been appearing every night at the Whitworth Gallery in Manchester, England, as part of Marina Abramovic’s performance showcase during this month’s Manchester Festival (through July 19). For his four-hour piece, Koh lies on the floor in a shirt made from crushed pearls, his face and feet covered in powder. Curled up in the fetal position, he plays Nat King Cole’s “Mona Lisa” over and over on his iPod. But tonight Koh is honoring the artist Dash Snow, who died today in an apparent drug overdose. Koh will change his tune to “Cheree” by the synth-punk band Suicide. As Koh explained in an e-mail message, “It is for one of my best friend’s Dash and that is our favorite song together and we used to dance to it together.” Strangely, the song was used in the closing scene of “Downtown 81,” which was about Jean-Michel Basquiat, another artist who died way too soon.

_Rest in Peace

_Another member to the '27 Club'

Dash Snow, the promising young New York artist, died last night at 'Lafayette House', a hotel in Lower Manhattan. He was 27 and lived in Manhattan. His death was confirmed by his grandmother, the art collector and philanthropist Christophe de Menil this afternoon, who said that Mr. Snow had died of a heroin overdose.

Snow gained prominence after being featured in an article titled “Warhol’s Children” that appeared in New York magazine in 2007. He worked in video and photography and also developed a distinctive collage style that fused and contrasted found images in fresh and suggestive ways. He exhibited in galleries and museums in New York, Los Angeles and Europe.
Ms. de Menil said that he had been in rehabilitation in March and had been off drugs until very recently.

He was also one of my Icons - Another one, gone too soon.

_The Country Rules, Part II.

_Another reason to love those Northern Dales - Private Dinner parties in secluded Hunting Lodges, with no electricity, gas or water. But, Stormy Yorkshire Dales, Hunting, pheasant feathers, bow ties, Family kilts, a deserted lodge, 22 new friends, some old some new, 8 dinner courses, Antique china, quail eggs, an 18lb beef joint, a poem, imported Danish lilac roses, cut crystal, monogrammed linen, peony's, drunken 3am walks and one of the most incredible 48 hours I have ever had.

It made me damn proud to be a Yorkshire man.
And to Kim - You are a complete Star! xx

_Triangle Collage

_Just some lovely shapes my friend Kristy has been making from old photographs over at www.getawaysticks.blogspot.com

Check it out.

_Monclear AW09

_Completely genius AW09 advertising campaign for Monclear's Autumn Winter ranges - Shot by Bruce Weber it features a selection of his own pups in matching new season puffa's.

This is what advertising should be about - Fun, Witty, & completely Memorable.

_Pack of Cards

_Totally amazing 'costume design' by Gary Card for an old dazed cover shoot (this shot is actually better than the real shoot, as the finished image looks photoshopped). These 'pryamids' actually went on to become the Keytar for Lady GaGa's performance at Glastonbury this year. But Screw the Keytar - I want a horse that looks like this! check out its weave!

_Chanel Show SS10

_Giant Chanel purfume bottles?!! - like my T's - Totally Brilliant.
I wanna work on the Art team at Chanel. Or maybe I should just marry Karl?

_Givenchy Couture SS10

_"Spikes & Studs: Even though the couture shows are the most revered and expensive events in the fashion calender, I almost never think - OMFG i want to BUY NOW! But when I spied these ultra cool Givenchy accessories shown in Paris a few days ago, my eyes almost popped out of my head! Riccardo Tisci has taken Givenchy from an outdated 80s label to the baddest bitch on the block and this season its interpreted via Bowie and Morrocan influences into some hard nut jewellery" - And I couldn't agree more - I want those stud rings SO BADLY.

The Country Rules.

_A life Raft III.

_As another life raft, a set of these also arrived yesterday - As samples for the 'RBPMSTUDIOSCENT' line I'm currently working on, Those of you who know me, know of my addiction with scented candles, this is 'White Tea' and is completely glorious (I defintely wanted some form of a tea based scent), I also have 'Vanilla Pod' (that we will definately have) and 'Lavendar & Sandlewood' (which is lovely, but needs to be heavier and more 'church like' almost 'Burned embers')

Stay tuned.

_A life Raft II.

_As previously mentioned, I was completely un-inspired, Then this landed on my doorstep from NYC - Josh you're a complete star, nothing inspires me more than bad amateur porn, fuck up collages, the Michael Time tribute special and a nice bit of anti-illustration. stay tuned to see what I spent yesterday afteroon creating to send back as part of our Atlantic correspondence art concept we're currently working on.

Back & Forth & Totally Inspired

_A life Raft I.

_Thanks to Jacob who recomended I read this book to get me out of my non inspired storm. The more I read, the closer to the shore I get, thanks man xx

_And slightly lost at sea.

I'm Going to read a book, and stop looking at visual things.
