_This makes me crave home . . .

_Sam Taylor-Wood's 'wuthering heights' melts me.
Wind-swept crags of heather and moors.

_Marc SS10

_Lovely, clean, wearable, interesting shapes, maybe a bit too much 'folk print' but the basics are lovely, from shapes to fabrics. Simple, easy, on point. And, I'm glad to see that he's still working the kilt like Karl with his collars.

_Levi’s The Archive Levi’s Vintage Clothing Book.

The foundation of denim as well as the most basic staple in most people’s wardrobe, Levi’s storied history has covered an incredible amount of ground since it’s inception in the 1800s. The book covers archival denim in smart and aesthetically pleasing black and white photographs. The style of photography offers great contrast and detail. Available now at Levi’s Store.

_So, Janet nailed it . . .

_'A House Is Not a Home'
by Bruce Weber (Author, Photographer), Dimitri Levas (Author, Editor)

This is an insight into the idiosyncratic flourishes which make a house into a home. Photographer Bruce Weber takes the reader around the world, looking at how creative individuals' homes reflect their own particular personalities. Here are interiors and exteriors, panoramas and details: Siegfried and Roy's tiger-striped (and tiger-filled) Las Vegas suite; Georgia O'Keefe's ghost ranch in New Mexico; Chris Isaak's childhood home in suburban California; the Duchess of Devonshire's stately home in England; Andrew Wyeth's Maine lighthouse retreat; and Weber's own Montana ranch, among others.

And if nothing else, What a Cover! - J'adore

_The accessories of the Masai, hair of Morrisey and Elvis mixed with the 90's look of Neneh Cherry - From full black chola and big hair, to piles of bangles and 'towel bind'

_French Stitch

_My favourite type of binding - it simply melts me.

_Contributing Editor

_Fashion is no longer just for paper pursuits (unfortunately). While the good old fashioned printed magazine is an enduring tradition, the boundaries have been broken. As the role of new media increases, pioneering publications create names for themselves via an online platform. One of the most notable (and innovative) online magazines is Contributing Editor. Launched in 2008 by former Details fashion editor Matthew Edelstein and Ryan Schmidt, Contributing Editor strives to serve as both a must read for the fashionable urbane man and as launchpad for exciting new talent.

_Currently Re-Obsessed

_With Hall and Oates, I adored them as a kid, but for some reason in the last month, I cant stop listening to them, they're so upbeat, had so many hits, and generally just make me smile. Oh, and how awsome is this early 80's MTV ad they did?!

_WTF

_This is beyond me.
Araki, the seminal Japanese photographic artist.
Gaga, the I'm a lesbian because Katie Perry told me it was cool, LA street whore.

I just dont get it - But, I'll give gaga this - She does look quite good, and has gone for asian rope bondage quite well (notably the above image), however I do put this down to Araki, not her, but still my question remains - WHY did Araki agree to this shoot?!

Not cool.
Not cool

_At long last . . .

_The Design Museum have realized that they cant keep putting on exibitions of shite fashion designers and terrible 'fashionable' Architects. They seem to have remembered how incredible old exhibits like Robert Brownjohn and Alan Fletcher were, so this fall, thank god, they open 'Less and More - The Design Ethos of Deiter Rams'

18 November – 07 March 2010
“Question everything generally thought to be obvious.”
Dieter Rams

As head of design at Braun, the German consumer electronics manufacturer, Dieter Rams emerged as one of the most influential industrial designers of the late 20th century by defining an elegant, legible, yet rigorous visual language for its products. The exhibition will showcase Rams’ landmark designs for Braun and furniture manufacturer VitsÅ“, examine how Rams’ design ethos inspired Braun’s entire product range for over 40 years, and assess his lasting influence on today’s design landscape.

Dieter Ram's Ten Principles of good design:
Good design is innovative.
Good design makes a product useful.
Good design is aesthetic.
Good design helps us to understand a product.
Good design is unobtrusive.
Good design is honest.
Good design is durable.
Good design is consequent to the last detail.
Good design is concerned with the environment.
Good design is as little design as possible.

_Beautiful

_The show graphics for the Venice Biennale are so nice, simple and elegantly punk, to which I will be attending at the end of this month.
