_I went to the opening of this show at the Maureen Paley Gallery summer 2008, and totally loved the pieces by artist Banks Violette.They reminded me of the Warhol carcrash series, combining the construction / deconstruction with the conclusion and glorifying the destruction. Or like huge pieces of black jet (a stone that originates from just down the road to where I grey up, Whitby) overall the pieces were simply stunning.
